Unlike the new majority in Congress (if "pro" is the opposite of "con",
is Progress the opposite of Congress?) I _am_ in favor of public support
for the arts. But I've always thought that patrons who support the
arts should get what they will mostly enjoy, not what the lunatic
fringe of the arts movements have often foisted upon them.

I'm willing to approach this query with an open mind, I can sort of
think of more or less artistic approaches that could result from this
query, but I can also see something like this being paraded before
Congress as the sort of so-called "anti-art" that the "poor suffering
taxpayers" are paying for.

I'm not atacking anybody. Just wondering, with mild trepidation.
