The New Testament story can be interpreted also steganographically.
Under this view, the Three Wise Kings become three hundred ignorant
miserables. They dont give a gift, they _take away_ some value from
Jesus s House which would then be a rich house, the newborn as king of
the Jews. It is a political interpretation as the title was given by
conquerors, then it would be opposed by local dwellers. The slaughter
of children is then equivalent to a (schizophrenic) hiding of the true
successor of Herodes, such that fleeing the zone is a way to protect
the hereditary rights of a wealthy family to be later reclaimed by the
real successor, though then children can be interpreted inversely as
old men, or in those ages, mature men: the slaughter of the innocents
is the euphemist way to narrate the massacre of miserables trying to
bring down Roman...

All three major religious ideologies arrive at and include cannibalism
through indirect means. Judaism reaches it through its food and
poultry prohibitions, leaving it as a deducted residue; Islam reaches
it from the prohibition of intoxication, so the purity of human meat
is assumed; Christianism includes it in the rite of the Eucharisty
quite directly, though left as an initiate s mystery by turning it
symbolic. These last two ideologies show themselves as more advanced
by including a period of food control, one avoiding it through
fasting, the other stressing the importance of fish (incidentally, one
sanctions fasting as correct in a harsh environment, deserts, the
other links directly to seasonal productive activities in maritime,
Mediterranean environments). It is easy to understand that under such
widespread observance of of nourishment practices, cannibals (in the
absence of refrigerators!) would evidence themselves! A whole season
in which, theoretically, the whole society is engaged in a single
nourishment practice will make the activities of the cannibal more
difficult and easier to spot and stop. Here some Jewish practices
reveal themselves more primitive in that they would difficult the
activity of cannibals only for some cannibal beliefs. So, the idea
that cannibalism HAS TO BE exercised permanently to be effective would
expose cannibals in Christian and Muslim theocracies, but not in
Jewish theocracies...
