GM probably used the same reasoning above when they decided to dwaddle in getting into building small cars. Maybe something like "gee, what will large families do when they all want to go somewhere." Daycare is profitable!! Where there is money to be made, businesses will spring up to make the money. Now, if you were to say, the current crop of daycare centers would have to change............that I would agree with. But so they have to change? Big deal! >what would the teachers with small children do for daycare? They'd >be in the same situation, except maybe needing INFANT care for just >a couple of weeks at a stretch. > >it seems like these arrangements would be tricky... Huh? I've never thought that female teachers time their pregnancies with summer vacations. Actually this goes to point made by someone about how they lived in the tail of the gaussian, four years of divorce court battles, a long and arduous settlement, etc. What we are talking about is the public education system. Can anyone honestly want to impede ideas, projects or whatnot simply because people out past 2sigma won't be fully accomodated? IMO, make changes to the system that will benefit the greatest number of people and THEN, and only then, work out the knotty details of unusual situations. Paul Landsberg
