Well, just a couple of comments:

1) my long trems DEST3000 problem turned out to be a CABLE problem!!
It remained unidentified because my two D25--> SCSI cables BOTH
had the same fault and my other cables had the micro plug on.

2) Chris Patterson from BTC may have left them recently - that *may*
(in his own words) mean no more support.

3) I have a canon IX-12F, and it doesn't look much like the DEST3000
at all. To start with, the IX-12F is a 5 bit scanner.

4) I got as far as my Future Domain 16 bit ISA card seeing the DESTs
ROM, but that's it. The drivers do allow you to change the ID (it's
a hidden feature), but it still does not work.

5) I have a long note from Chris basically supporting my frequent
statement that the DEST 3000 is of DESTs design and that for the
PC it requires its own card.

6) For anyone interested, I have a spare DEST controller card which
   I'll sell for 60 UKP.
