The title says it. I would like to know how CD players, the audio variety and CD-ROM types track. Besides plain curiosity there's an ulterior motive for this question. I live and work in Brazil (am on leave now) and CD players there have a problem of skipping which I was told is due to high humidity. Before bringing a an audio CD player and a CD-ROM reader back to Rio, I would like to know what to look for in a product that would minimize the potential for skipping. I would also very much appreciate any reference to technical literature (construction, circuits, maintenance, etc.) concerning CD players and CD-ROM readers.
