Composite video from Atari 2600/7800?

I've noticed in an opened 7800 that there is a small, shielded box on the board
that appears to be the RF modulator section of the circuit.

Has anyone tapped into the video before the RF modulator to feed directly into
a composite monitor? If so could they post descriptions and/or schematics of
the modification?

I'm an Apple II user so I have a number of composite monitors around and it'd
be nice to have the Atari usable while the TV is in use.
