NiCads have extremely low internal resistance, so they are capable of supplying very high inrush currents. Some circuits may suffer though I've used NiCads in most equipment eg. photo flashes, walkman, radio recievers etc. without causing problems even though some of these have warned not to use NiCads. Charles BTW Jason, its a good thing that 4*(1.5V-1.2V) is less than 1 volt. It could get pretty serious if it was 1.2 V.
