My sister's fairly ancient Sony receiver was exhibiting some problems.  The
repair place told her it wasn't worth fixing so I decided to do it myself.
Nobody in Ottawa could find a schematic for it, and a call to Sony Canada
led nowhere.  I found Sony's U.S. 800 number for technical publications in
rec.video and called it; $2.50 on my MasterCard and three days, and I had 
all of the user and technical guides for the receiver.  I had to replace
a capacitor in the power supply.
