I don't know of a lot of websites that display a range of career
opportunities. I would approach the major production firms throughout the USA
(or your area/state/region) and contact their environmental manager. While
many consulting shops have dropped their ranks, corporate hirings have not
been depressed (which is part of the reason some consultants are having a hard
time). You will eventually find places hiring for their environmental jobs,
which pay significantly better than those in the government.

It is hard out there right now for environmental scientists/eng. Many
companies have hired internally as the amount of expertise to *continue*
compliance dropped. Combined with a streamlined reporting procedures many
states are adopting, it gets kind of tight. But good jobs are still out
there.
