Recognition thru eye speckle characterization

A couple of weeks ago somebody mentioned a person identification
scheme based on characterizing the eye with a 256 byte value,
based on the speckle in the iris (I think). I foolishly lost
the reference. Could someone mail me the reference to the article
which covers this technique?

Thanks,
Mike Jones
