I'm trying to implement shrinking, thinning and skeletonizing algorithms in C for my Image Processing course. Our text book, Digital Image Processing by Pratt (2nd ed.) discusses these but the method he decribes seems more like 'brute force ' than anything else. Is there a good paper or text that discusses more subtle approaches to these problems ? Thanks. Awais. <zakauddi@aludra.usc.edu>
