Yeah, few of the official names for Bay Area freeways or bridges are helpful at all: they're mostly named after dead guys that no one has ever heard of: John Foran, Arthur H Breed Jr, Bagley, Sinclair, Rumford, Luther Gibson, Robert T Monagan, John B Williams; and several are named after dead guys that I actually *had* heard of: Luther Burbank, Nimitz, Portola, Earl Warren, J Arthur Younger, James Lick, and of course the abovementioned Serra. But nobody uses those names. Which made for a pretty cool match-em-up trivia quiz for those of us who drive too much, in the Bay Area. Which by the way I wrote up a few years ago and I'd be willing to send out or post if there is any interest (ca.driving seems like a more appropriate newsgroup, though, and I've directed followups there). -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Doug.Landauer@sun.com || "The more you drive, the less SUNW[STE]->SunPro:: || intelligent you are."
