At the store, I saw Golden Grain Mission Reduced Carb 12 ounce Lasagna
noodles.

2 ounces of lasagna noodles has 12 grams of fiber and 16 grams
of protein ? I do not believe it! There is not that much fiber in
wheat - and the ingredients do not show added fiber. Does
anyone believe this label on this product?

Ingredients - wheat, wheat starch, wheat protien - how can that
yield in 2 ounces -- 1 gram fat, 31 grams carbs, 12 grams fiber,
1 gram sugar, and 16 grams of protien - I just can't belive it!

Modern food manufacturing allows separating something like
wheat into its basic components like starch, fiber, and protein,
and then reassembling these into food products in whatever
ratio is desired.

They do not need to specify this on the label.

Thanks, I got a confirmation from the manufacturer:

"Thank you for your interest in our products.
The higher fiber and protein are from the added
modified wheat starch and wheat protein isolate.
The fiber that we use acts just like other fiber
sources (like cereal).
The protein is the same as wheat protein."

- So, there is a free lunch in this world - 200 calories of
pasta with 12 grams of fiber and 16 grams of protien
with very little fat - sounds like a winner to me!

Wait till you taste it to declare it a winner. Most low carb pastas
are notoriously unpalatable.
