Reading A" could - in my mind - be rewritten both as "We have no information about the "actual state of affairs"' as well as "The information we have about the "actual state of affairs"' is not inferential" i.e. it is not clear (to me) what "not" is anaphoric to. Probably my EN comprehension is at fault. Is Reading A2 equivalent to 'The problem is that we only have inferential information about any such correspondence, and *none* about the "actual state of affairs"' ? MVH, T
