We are presently looking for a material that will be used to attach solar cells to an aluminum substrate. Cell efficiency decreases as the cell temperature increases. Films such as Tefsel and Tedlar are commonly used. These exibit good electrical insolation, but low thermal conductivities. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. How about passivating your aluminum panel surface with thin film diamond? Thermal conductivity near room temperature is five times that of copper, and it's a very good insulator. Barring that, a diamond filled epoxy would probably do the trick. They use industrial diamond (abrasive grade) so the cost isn't too outrageous.
