Dear Users: I am a graduate student in applied mathematics at the University of Chicago and am working on finite element methods. I am interested in examining the propagation of acoustic waves (ultrasound) through the human body using numerical methods assuming CT/MRI scans of the geometry and density. Does anyone know of code or a mathematical model of such a system (second order hyperbolic PDE's with parabolic- energy loss)? I am interested in attempting such a model but do not wish to "re-invent" the wheel. Any information that you might provide would be *greatly* appreciated. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Chris Haase DoD Fellow University of Chicago
