I've been reading the papers of Washnitzer and Monsky on "formal cohomology", and I was wondering where the theory has gone since the foundational papers. Are there current references? A particular question that occurred to me is the following. In their papers, Washnitzer and Monsky construct the cohomology of an affine variety in characteristic p by lifting its coordinate ring (very carefully) to characteristic zero. Has anyone looked for a "quasi-coherent" version, where modules over the coordinate ring are lifted to characteristic zero? -- ============================================================================ Fernando Q.
