Please accept my humble incursion into this group but I could use some help on
extracting eigenvalues and eigenvectors from symmetric matrices using a
spreadsheet. I have produced a multiple discriminant analysis model in Excel
which calculates the variance sum of squares matrices but to complete the
analysis I have to take the matrix into MatLabII to get the eigens. Although
this is no real problem it is a bit in-elegant and I would like to be able to
do the whole analysis within one application. If you have or know of any
spreadsheet routines or references to procedures suited to a spreadsheet
environment I would be very grateful if you could pass them on or point me in
the right direction.
