I read your post.  The reason I use the Net is to see what's going
on in Nursing in other parts of the country and the world.  We
recently discussed topics like Male OB/GYN nurses, Therapeutic Touch,
replacing nurses with UAP's, and the March on Washington.  We get
to read each other's posts, and learn from the different points of
view.  Many of the nurses work in fields I have no usual contact with,
and it broadens my scope.  

I guess my best comparison would be:  It's like being able to
walk from unit to unit in a large health care center and ask the
Nurses "What's new?", and they actually have the time to stop and 
say "This is....and I think...."  It's a place to have those
Q and A sessions you haven't had time for since nursing school.

One of my favorite "nursing" places on the Net is the student nurse
group.  What a collection of young (and old) new nursing minds!
I am constantly impressed by the depth of the projects they report on,
and by the passion you can feel in the words they type.  They help
each other research topics, and share study tips.  The students come
and go as the semester allows, but the knowledge and energy they
have!  WOW! I feel very secure if these students are examples of the
"nurse of the future", and welcome them with open arms into "my"
profession.

Write a good article about us Net Nurses, and, hopefully, you'll
add to our ranks!
