If I have eight people playing poker, and want to play seven-card stud, if I use two decks am I dramatically changing the odds of standard poker hands? Straight flushes would be slightly less likely (since there's a chance of card duplication in any hand), I would guess.... Is this a standard statistical puzzle that has stock answers? If so, I'd appreciate hearing it. I'm going to be in this position in a week, and would enjoy showing the answers to the assembled septet.
