I have an application where the keying of hand held radio (160 MHZ) is causing an unacceptable disturbance in the signal coming from a position transducer. The position transducer has a signal conditioner mounted remotely from the sensor head. The interferance is picked up at the signal conditioner. If feel that the best way to solve this problem would be to mount the signal conditioner in an RFI proof enclosure. Here are my questions. Would an RFI proof enclosure work? Does any company make an enclosure? (I would need a 6" x 6" x 4" box) Could we make an EMI proof box using some conductive gaskets? (We tried a regular NEMA 1 box and it didn't seem to help) Are there any better solutions? Any help or insight would be appreciated.
