Just to add a little to the discussion.

The light produced is high quality white light, better than what you can
get from fluorescent or incandescent sources, and certainly a lot better
than you can get from other sources of similar efficiency (sodium lamps,
etc).

One other plus, especially for a museum, is that the light has almost
no UV content.
