We can only guess about the nature of the big bang we are living in today. There have probably been countless big bangs going on throughout eternity. The way it looks now there is not enough gravity to pull everything back together into another bang and make this a cyclic universe. I postulate that there could be other bangs going on to infinity. When we spread out far enough we will start running into more bangs and the energy and mass from the two will collect into a huge black hole. When enough has collected the black hole reaches a temperature and pressure hot enough to destroy gravity and boom. Here we go again with everything recycled to Hydrogen and Helium! Oh well, I'm just daydreaming! Nothing can really be known!
