Let me get this straight. There are 2 cosmological mysteries of this millinium, one more mysterious than the other: one is dark matter and the other is dark energy. As far as we know, dark matter is not made of the regular charged particles which me, you, nature, our planet, the sun and everything around us and in our solar system is made of. So what is the purpose of studying dark matter so hard? Dark matter can't be produced here on earth with current technology and so has no effect on us and on our lives. Another phenomena, more mysterious than dark matter is dark energy. Dark energy is another invisible stuff which expands the universe and pushes galaxies apart faster than the speed of light. But again, if it can't be created here on earth, then why study it so deeply? If anything, dark energy will not be created here on earth for at least another 2000 years or maybe more. Only then we will have the technology to create it or at least figure out what this mysterious form of energy is made of.
