Postdoctoral Position at YALE UNIVERSITY is available in
neurophysiology to investigate cellular mechanisms of learning and
information processing in the perirhinal cortex and the adjacent
amygdala. This NIH-funded position will involve the following
techniques: whole-cell recordings from juvenile, adult, and aged brain
slices with concurrent visualization using video-enhanced infrared DIC
microscopy; 2D and 3D reconstructions of biocytin-filled neurons; and
neural modeling on networked UNIX workstations. An opportunity will
exist to learn two-photon microscopy. The ideal candidate will have a
Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related discipline and a background in
brain slice neurophysiology. Evaluation of applicants will begin
immediately and continue until the position is filled. AA/EOE.
