---------------------- Post-doctoral positions as posted on Postdoc Jobs website: http://www.PostdocJobs.com --------------------- Distributed Sensing Systems of Autonomous Micro-modules This nationally funded project seeks to develop a technology platform, incorporating innovative hardware and software enabling technologies, that will realise distributed autonomous sensors (in the range of several hundred nodes) for future ad-hoc networks in ambient, or pervasive, systems. The focus of the post-doctoral research will include developing miniaturised autonomous sensing units that can be dispersed within, and around, materials and structures for use in the everyday environment. The target will be a 5mm cube incorporating micro sensors, ICs for signal processing, computation, and wireless communications, and a power source, assembled using innovative interconnect configurations. The candidate should have a PhD in a relevant discipline in the areas of Microelectronics, Engineering, or Materials Science. S/he should have experience of high-density assembly and packaging techniques including flip-chip, MEMS packaging and other 3-D packaging processes.
