--------------------- Postdoctoral Position as posted on Postdoc Jobs website: http://www.PostdocJobs.com --------------------- A postdoctoral position is available to study the orphan nuclear receptors PPARg and PPARd using molecular genetic approaches [Mol. Cell 4:585, 1999; PNAS 99:303, 2002]. Our lab makes extensive use of gene targeting, stem cells, and gene expression profiling, among other methodologies, to study epithelial differentiation, adipogenesis, and energy metabolism. The successful applicant will have a variety of project choices, including but not limited to: 1) Novel PPAR target genes, their function and regulation, in vivo and in vitro. 2) Novel epistatic relationships between PPARs and other signaling pathways in the regulation of epithelial differentiation and adipogenesis. 3) The molecular and physiological basis of metabolic control by PPARg and d. A PhD and/or MD degree and experience in both molecular biology and cell culture are required. Background in either developmental biology or physiology of energy metabolism is highly desirable. The Jackson Laboratory is a not-for-profit research center located in Bar Harbor, Maine, adjacent to Acadia National Park. To apply for this position, send your C.V., names of three references, and a cover letter describing your research interests to: Suzanne Serreze, att: YB EO/AA employer For more information, please visit the Postdoc Jobs website: http://www.postdocjobs.com/jobs/302881.shtml -----------------------
