I think there has to be some sense of cooperation in order for a
society to function. You seem to ignore this concept. If I am taxed to
fund someone else pet project, that doesn't bug me too much if my pet
project, e.g. NASA. gets funded. Of course if I have some moral
opposition to that other project, then funding it will bother me. If
it bothers me enough I'll vote against it, if possible, and try to get
others to do the same... or I'll vote for someone who also believes
it's wrong...  or I'll run for office myself.

You seem to think that this way of doing things is untenable ... or am
I misunderstanding you?
