I wish we could find some earthly common purpose, and not feel the need to perpetually seek our fulfillment in the backyards of others (eg-Europeans finding purpose in the conversion of natives in North America) Where does progress end? I think it has to end (is resources are limited, and the universe is finite then it must eventually end). Progress as a reason for existence strikes me as accepting that eventually we're going to use up everything to maintain our fulfillment. I realise our sun isn't going to last, and some believe the universe won't either, but does that mean we should be continuing on this dead-end path? Just thoughts. I'm never confident enough to state anything like this as conviction. Have fun running it through your intellectual quisinarts. -- Stu, King of CSCSS umcroall@cc.umanitoba.ca "Sara dear, our carriage awaits!"
