  Then please explain to me why there seem to be more people looking
for work than jobs, why it is difficult for skilled professionals to
find immediate employment, why benefits are decreasing at all types
of jobs, why software workers are largely contractors, not employees,
why overtime is up....
  There are very bad long-term trends in the US economy that don't
show directly in the employment and salary figures.
