Oh you silly man!  How many jobs does Canada's participation in various 
space ventures actually contribute to the economy?  Most of these 
industries are very specialized and employ but a handfull of fancy 
scientists.  While I realise it's important for fancy scientists to have 
somewhere to work, I really believe there are so many more useful ways to 
employ these people, especially given that the government has to 
continually support the programs.  And manned spaceflight?  That appears 
to me to be about the biggest waste of anybodies money around...just 
about everything that we could possibly want to do in space could be 
accomplished with out people; they are significantly more expensive to 
hurtle up there, are they not, than various form s of unmanned vehicles. 
I can see why you'd be concerned, being employed in the field, but your 
concern is similar to me being concerned about a reduction in the nuber 
of civil service jobs because it might make it harder for me to get a 
job.  Perhaps you should seek job retraining to adapt to the real world, 
as the rest of Canadians are being told to do.
