The following was posted today to alt.config.

If there is enough support for the group, the control message to
create the group will go out in a week.

In the meantime, if there are any comments, please e-mail me.

Proposal:
With the number of commercial roll-outs of cable modem systems on the
increase a group is needed to discuss the pros and cons of such
services as @Home, MediaOne Express, RoadRunner and others.

Discussions will be both technical and practical, focusing on the
inner workings of the systems and how to get the most out of them.

Acceptable topics would include hardware and software support,
discussions of the relative merits of different models of cable
modems, comparisons to other broadband services such as xDSL and ISDN.

The group is being proposed as an unmoderated group, though the
discussion may be gently guided to ensure that it remains on topic.
Participation in the newsgroup by industry insiders, including
postings of news releases directly related to the group, will be
appreciated and welcomed.

A FAQ for the group is under development.
