I think 40 bucks a month is enough to pay without having them rip you off for more addresses. This is a lie they use to get you to pay more money. I have the same problem, only one computer can get the modem at a time, and it is all set up correctly, but the thing is, my friend has 3 computers all of which are on SIMULTANEOUSLY, without the need for a proxy (the modem goes in his uplink port) or the need to buy additional numbers. My problem is that he can not remember how he set it up, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me how it is done, because i know it IS possible to share the modem at the same time, with only one number and no proxy. <GulDukat@Cardassia.com> wrote in message news:ru8rbt5olg773@news.supernews.com... > Ok, I just finished going through this with my home "network" system. > > If you are going to hook it up that way you will need to purchase a IP > address for each computer from you cable modem service.
