I've noticed this too.  The same thing was done to the carpool lane
sign on the I-805 on-ramp (south).  I remember it used to have
'motorcycle' included on it.  And now it's gone.

I still see motorcycles use the lane.  I haven't seen the cop parked
at the on-ramp lights to catch non-carpoolers so I don't know if any
of these motorcyclists have been stopped.  I suppose if they did
stop someone, the guy could argue that motorcycles were legal the
last time he checked.
