Hello all,
My name is Laura Cox. I am an Associate Project Leader for PC Magazine Labs.
My current assignment involves research on true 32-bit native OS/2
applications for the purpose of testing the P6 and comparable processors.
Currently our 32-bit tests are mainly conducted under Windows NT but we are
looking to expand our horizons to the OS/2 arena.

What I'm hoping for is productive information regarding the most popular
native OS/2 applications on the market today. These packages don't
have to have Windows counterparts, nor do they need to be "commercial".
This is the first step in deciding which packages PC Magazine will consider
in future testing using OS/2.

Just as a reminder, the type of tests we plan on developing will stress the
processor, NOT the operating system. Programs that use floating point
operations are high on the list. Our current crop of internal 32-bit tests
consist of the following types of software: word processing, spreadsheet,
raster drawing program, vector drawing progam, CAD program, compiler.

Once I've collected product information, I will have more specific questions
on how people are using the products. I'll also listen and consider any
comments regarding the testing process under OS/2.

Hope you are all enjoying the holidays and I look forward to your comments,

Laura Cox
