Allow me to make a few clarifications...

It would be even more accurate to call this *A* list of public librarians
on the net. A couple of weeks ago, I posted a request for the "official
list" of public libraries on the net. This is the list I had heard about.
The fact that someone is not on the list, only means that they had not
come to the attention of the person who compiled the list. In posting
this list, it is my hope that readers of this group who are not on this
list, but would like to be will either contact John Iliff or post a
follow-up message to this group saying "put me on the list" or (preferably)
both.

What I meant to do here was to distinguish between those institutions such
as Denver Public and San Diego which have made a commitment on the part
of the *institution* to go online (Liverpool PL in New York would also be
included in this category) so that employees are provided an account and
those institutions in which the librarians have net accounts as
*individuals* through some outside source but their employer does not
necessarily have an interest in promoting the net. My intention was to
point out that I do not know which category most of the people on this list
belong to. I hope that this is a useful distinction, and would be interested
in hearing how different libraries support their employees' networking.

Apologies for any misunderstandings that arose from the original post.
