What he didn't mention is that you can't use this system unless he's
willing to give out his authcode.  I use this system all the time and
you get this when you call in:
Which Host? telnet blah.blah.blah.edu
Then some message like:
Enter authorization code? (hehe..don't you wish?)
Password? (yeah...)

%TN00 - telnet (or somethin' like that)

and so forth...you need an authcode..only way to get one is either to pay
Merit for one, enroll at one of the State of Michigan's universities, or
scam one somehow...I don't suggest two of them...I go to Michigan..but
transferring to get telnet access is not the way to go..hehe

The only time it doesn't ask you for an authcode is when you telnet within
the state...if you use a TCP port, it'll ask you for an authcode too..even
if it's not out of state.
