Pamini, If you can read what I've posted over the last six months about my Mom's USB 'Stingray' DSL problems, what you're posting here is a duplicate of just about everything. FINALLY, this Wednesday she received the Ethernet Speed Touch Home DSL modem from BellSouth. I installed it late Wednesday evening and she's been surfing and happy ever since. Based on what we've gone through over there since last fall, I'd have to say that your USB modem is going bad and you need to persist with BellSouth to get them to send you the Ethernet modem. It will require the installation of an NIC card, but they're less than $20. In fact, I got one for her at Office Depot on Wed. $19.99 - $7.50 Instant Rebate - $7.50 Mail-in Rebate = $4.99 final cost. The filters that you have at the phone jacks now will stay. It was a rather painless conversion and she's been thrilled with the service. Good luck!
