Well i mooooved the DSL modem from off the top of the computer as advised;
joined news:bellsouth.net.support.adsl as advised, and am still not getting
connected in the morning. Not only that now i am getting bombed severely,
especially when i click on news:bellsouth.net.support.adsl from my news reader.
Donot say it is the news reader, because as you can see i am having no trouble
when using my local, home-town dial-up.

Pamini

PS the DSL modem (Home) is now back on the top of the computer, since i had
better luck with it there; as i didnot get bombed nearly as often, however it is
unplugged at the moment.
