(Interesting thread!)
There must be some sort of neuro-chemical reason why men have always been
more interested in technology than women. There are, today, many
hunter-gatherer cultures in which only the men use their most modern
technologies (ie - hunting weapons). One can then speculate that men have
always been more apt to the use of new technologies than women.
I know that I am the one who likes to have the remote control, I'm the one
who wants to drive, and I'm the one who likes to surf the net. Hey, I'm
male - it's a hormonal thing <grunt!>
