WHAT WILL LIFE LOOK LIKE IN THE YEAR 3000 ?
As a Dutch filmdirector specialized in environmental topics I would like exchange ideas
about the question mentioned above. At the moment I am doing research about this topic
to see if it has potential for a documentairy.
Being connected to Internet I thought it might be a good idea to see if I can contact
others around the globe who have ideas or theories about this matter.

So, I'd like to ask anyone who is thinking about this or doing research on the
consequenses of present development to react and give me their views.

I'd like to exchange thoughts, theories and views.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON THE TOPIC
Our planet contains lifeforms for millions of years. During that very long period of
time things changed slowly. Various lifeforms developed, came and went but the planet
was always able to create new lifeforms suiteble to the ecosystem of that moment.
Lifeforms suitable to the available recourses and climate during the period of their
existance.
All this is based on the very fragile balance within the atmosphere, a very thin shell
of only 30 kilometers around the globe. Less than nothing compaired to the endless
universe.

In a very short period of time, compaired to the exsistence of lifeforms on this
planet, the human being developed.
During that short period these creatures in someway lived in harmory with the planets
possibilities.
Only within the last hundred years things changed extremely fast. Population started
growing very rapidly and started to use an enormous amount of recourses. The resourses
are used up at a far more greater speed than they can rebuilt. For many of the
recourses, like oil for instance, it takes millions of years to form.
So, a logical consequense is that in the near future some crucial recourses will run
out. Just imagine modern life without oil and its products.
Even sustainable recourses like wood, food and drinkingwater will become a problem in
the near future.

An other consequence of populationgrowth is waiste. Due to modern technologies a lot of
waiste is new'. Emmision of CFK's is one good example. By now we all know that this
relatively new kind of waiste has a great effect on the atmosphere. Together with other
modern waiste it tends to change our fragile ecosystem. These changes execute much
faster than any other change in the history of life.
And it is not hard to imagine the sweeping effect of temperature rise of only a couple
degrees.
Waterlevel will rise... 60% of the worlds population live near the coast....

One of the great advances of a human being is the possibillitie to think about the
future. Although it is mainly based on experiences from the past man is able to foresee
consequences of todays developments. So, there definately are some people figuring out
ways to deal with all this. Thinking about economies growth, the rapid growth of waist,
energie recourses running dry, transport, food. etc, etc. Trying to find ways to alter
the huge system that pushes life in this planet towards the edge of the cliff.

What possibillities or options do we still have?
What will life look like in the year 3000?
