I love it when people resort to profanity in argument. Not only does it prove conclusively that they have nothing coherent to say on the topic, but it paints a far better self portrait than pages of flaming could ever daub. As to litigation, lets just say I am not inexperienced in the concept. >> >Well, given the opinion surveys, perhaps we the people should >> >be suing Parliament (and yourself as an unrepresentative >> >minority group lobbyist) for perverting the course of justice. > >> Be my guest, so long as you pay your own costs. >Maybe we should be saying that to the ADFA too Dave, that you are >welcome to free speech and to proselytize your line on the net but >NOT to use the resources of a taxpayer funded system to do so. Lets see, what time is it : <ccadfa_adm>_4 % date Wed Apr 9 21:30:16 EST 1997 <ccadfa_adm>_5 % Oh, its 9.30pm. I just checked the operational status of the hardware linking 1300 students to the Internet. I checked the operation of the modem pool and discovered 1 bad line and one modem connecting at 7500baud instead of 14.4k. There were a couple of e-mail enquiries waiting which have now been answered. I will probably run a diagnostic script on the Australian Politics Resource, a little something I maintain in my own time, but used by staff and students throughout the world. By the time I am finished there is bound to be another e-mail enquiry from a student, perhaps a followup from one I just answered. Since I signed in at ADFA at 0900, and out at around 1800, what do you think it would cost to _pay_ an STO like me to perform these tasks ? The $4.50 per hour an ISP charges for online time ? >> Oh yes, I am not a lobbyist for an unrepresentative minority group, >Pigs arse you arent. >> I am simply a self motivated private individual. >Fine, you are welcome to pay your OWN costs when doing that Dave. I am. Where appropriate. Take a look at http://www.geocities.com/~dmoss What do you reckon the ~dmoss stands for ? >And for all your bluff and bluster, you sure wont be paying for >the prosecution of the NT AG out of your own pocket either. No, because when you win, you get awarded costs. Its great when you know you are right ! >> The efforts of thousands of individuals like me prevailed >For now. I'm happy. Tomorrow is another day. >Pity there is FAR more voluntary euthanasia going on outside the NT >than the number of people who availed themselves of the NT legislation. You >clowns wont be having any effect on THAT Dave. However much you bluster. Frank Weaver showed there had been a 12.5% decrease in the incidence of involuntary euthanasia in the Netherlands when there was a 5000% increase in prosecutions for the offence. Very interesting stat, don't you think ? >> over the efforts of the hundreds of people in the NCVE >Pity about the opinion of the vast bulk of ordinary Australians >Dave. But what the hell, you damned fundys have always been >sure you know whats best for everyone else havent you ? What kind of fundy am I Rod ? Come on now, you can't damage your credibility any more with an unsubtantiated accusation, so have a guess... >Pity you cant do a damned thing about those who can end their lives unassisted. >Bet that burns eh ? Not at all, suicide is soley the business of the person involved. Euthanasia takes more than one person, I've had a small part in making that illegal once more. Its you who seems overheated by events. >> to convince MPs and Senators what was the right path for Australia on this issue. > >Soorree, you didnt. No point in this sort of mindless posturing, the legislation >ONLY affects the TERRITORYS and you know it. A very small part of Australia. Hands up anyone who can tell me how many Australian States allow euthanasia ! >> >I wonder why people such as yourself are so determined >> >to impose your minority opinions on the whole population. > >> Personally its because I think deliberate killing is bad for Australian society. >Your problem. We've got a democracy here Dave, if your views are those of >a small minority, and they are, you get to mind your own damned business. Nope, sorry. Thats not how Australian democracy works. We have this quaint little custom we inherited from the poms called freedom of expression. It allows us to tell the truth, debunk the myths, and convince our MPs and Senators to ignore public opinion polls in favour of doing what is clearly the right. Given the usually spineless nature of politicians it was a very difficult task on this occasion. >> Are you trying to tell me I should not speak out >> about what I believe to be best for Australia ? >No, he's succeeding in telling you that no minority like you lot are on this issue >should be able to ram your minority view down others throats by legislation. Whats the point of having freedom of speech if you are not allowed to convince MPs and Senators with it ? >And you know it. >> Or just that I shouldn't be able to do it effectively ? >Gone blind yet ? Dont reply if you have. No Rod, I am not a Pajero owner. It seems we have nothing in common. David Moss, personal opinion only. try http://www.adfa.oz.au/~adm/politics for Australian Politics
