FWIW, I might have some insight into what provoked the support for this infamous character. Having, for the first time, been in one of the many 'general' newsgroups being frequented, I caught some of his postings where he describes the extent he is a victim of some pretty outlandish stuff including crude postings forged with his name, and some pretty lousy messages directed at him. Well, that's pretty serious stuff - stuff defamation of character court cases are made of. Really provokes a lot of sympathy at first glance. However, after seeing some of other posts (not the forgeries), I see this is not a 'victim' at all. Actually, the multitude of cross addressed forums are the true victims, therefore the ugly backlash. Well, here I go doing exactly what I shouldn't be doing, and adding to the traffic drivel, but this will be my last :) - promise. But really, stop the stuff that can potentially land folks in court - it would be trully ironic for militant backlashers to end up on the defense, in court - not worth it....
