There is a small computer in the Toronto Freenet office that
is on the internet and is *not* accessable by general members.
It is only open for a handful of people for various purposes.

Persistant rumours of abuse of accounts on this system have
arisen including commercial contents. Now there is good reason
to believe that ilegal materials are either on or were on this
 machine.

Ilegal Materials which may have been zipped and parcelled out to
numerous phoney TFN accounts for subsequent safe storage. This
material may well include child pornography allegedly linked to
 a recently arrested pedophile.

Immediate investigation must occur as to potential security
breaches. And, should any real evidence - *not* trumped up
smear campaign nonsense - of illegality be apparent the police
 should be immediately called.

Note: I do not have concrete evidence just strong indications.
Combined with the potentially hundreds of phoney accounts we
may be facing a huge problem here. The Board must address these
 issues as soon as possible.

 Have a look at:

I suggest people stop donating to
Toronto Freenet and the police be
called. Non-profit means we are not
 a commercial enterprise. Transforum is
 a commercial enterprise. Their web
site is located on our TFN server.

From who ? If they're local, so what?

You'd really shut down the freenet because
of 20 hits?

You're a spitefull little man bob, and my disgust
for you grows by the second.

If you really want to improve the freenet, you'd
never post from there again.

 The following text shows sites
 on TFN's not.torfree.net machine
which have had over 20 visits.
 Sasha, Dmytri Kleiner's employee
and friend seems to hold a lot
of our resources for his projects.

This text does not show other files
that may be on not.torfree.net. So
far we have found onecommercial site
on our non-profit machines. What else
is there? And why is there such
 resistance to finding out?

The TFN Board does not respond to rumours. We tend to believe in our

have concrete evidence on illegal activity, please bring them to this

I have. The site does not exist or no longer exist as of 5:15 pm 18 Mar
1997.

In any case, Board member Gard Abrahamson will likely takeover management
of the not.torfree computer. You can send further evidences to him or me.

As for the statistics & coded information you sent me:
The jumble of letters shown on the web page make a readable message, if
it's worth the trouble of dejumbling:

I've already plainly stated I have nothing to do with either tfn or tfcn.

Don't let THAT stop your little witchhunt though.

Perhaps it is time to get more involved though.

Well you're running out of them, thats for sure.

Bob, I've given you untold resources that would have cost
anybody else hundreds if not thousands of dollars of the
last two years.

I've put up with untold flak from people who used to
respect me, for giving you these resources.

I've tried my best to help you with your projects
even though they're in direct commercial competition
with what I do.

All in hope you would one day do something, ANYTHING
constructive. To date, you still have not.

When I wouldnt fold to your extortive attempts:
"give me a free office and I'll support eDNS",
"support altRFC and I'll support eDNS" you
then proceeded to shit on eDNS, TFCN, TFN,
basically anybody who won't let you assume
an element of control.

All the entities above operate on rough consensus
and running code. Not gerrymandering serlf serving
abusive little control freaks such as yourself.

Don't like them ? Don't use them. I've never seen
anybody bitch so hard at free resources or bite
so savigely the hand that feeds them.

> I'm the worst thing since Svengali.

No, you're just another net.kook in a long
line of net.kooks. Your poetry sucks, you
appear to be losing it again, and you're no
longer amusing, just spitefull. Bob against
the world, but the world is getting rather bored.

> I am tired of exploiters, opportunists
> and con artists.

That you and Gard have a machine that is on
Beckers network, and Becker being a paid
contractor to the TFN who gives his resources
to you two clowns freely is not without notice.

Think this through, Bob: shut down the freenet
and Becker doesnt have that contract. No contract
no income. No income, your connectivity goed away
as does Gard's. It would appear you have a much greater
vested interest in the status quo than most poeple.

More baseless allegations. If you had anything
actionable, you'd actually do something, but there
is nothing and you have nothing.

You're the world weekly news of the net bob,
a foul, smearing, self centered egomanical
magalomaniac seerely lacking in a clue of any
sort.

You're the Heraldo of the freenet, tilting at
windills, shitting all over anything you can't
control, who never has and probably never will
make any contribution to the net.community.

You used to be a harmless fool, boB, now
you're just an asshole.

You know as well as all the other board members that I have presented the
evidence to the FreeBD (hope it is still there) of the illegal use of
not.torfree.net, what did the board do? Did the board give an elected

Some times Bill I wish that you keep silent and preserve your dignity.
You may not be aware of some very interesting developments that will
prove beyond the shadow of doubt what is really taking place. Your lack
of technical skills will not be an excuse because it was spilled out to
you. But you are of the stance that if it does not cost the TFN any

wish to belong but you are defending the wrong company. Stand up and
practice your responsibility. Ask silly questions if you must.

Soon, you will know better.

I voted against expelling you from the Board and against limiting your IP
access, so I am not the one who should be explaining these majority
decisions.

My reponsibility as and the reason I ran to become TFN Board member is to
save Toronto Freenet, not to become net.cop. I ran to provide free basic
internet access for all, not to censor internet content.

My stance on the not.torfree computer is "if it does not cost the TFN
any money, why not let" the volunteers use it however they wish. I
understand TFN owns the not.torfree computer, so there is no monthly
rental cost. Until we have alternate productive use for it, I do not
object to volunteers using this idle asset even for commercial purposes.

I will even tolerate pornography on not.torfree so long as it does not
violates Canadian laws or Ryerson policy. Ryerson not only provides us
the bandwidth for the machine but our office space as well.

Volunteer Sasha's web site provides connection to Board member Dmytri's
critique on child porn censorship, which warns people initially that
what follows may be offensive. Unless the police or Ryerson warns us
otherwise, I will not interfere.

Bob, what you say has been posted to the Board just after my removal,
containing all actual URL's. I still have a list and actual HTML of these
sites. My crime was that I have actually limited the access of these
privileged few - though I admit that I was offered an account may as a
sort of pribe - including the previous 'Administrator' who has resigned
before I took responsibility of the office. I also informed the Ryerson
security that he is a security risk and not to be allowed to the office.
The day after, January 9th, I took all the proofs to the board meeting
only to be silenced by 'you know who' and then the farce of illegal
removal.

So the board knows.

I understand that and appreciate it. However, it is not just a matter of
voting. You can protest more vigorously. You could have put it in the
minutes that this is against even the passed AGM motion, because it did
not have the required majority of 2/3 of the Board.

: My reponsibility as and the reason I ran to become TFN Board member is to

No not net.cop but torfree.cop, in the end you as a board member will be
held responsible. Unfortunately, though the board is used as a front by
the knowledge (and planning) of some of its members, the others are just
being used. Who said any thing about internet content? If any one wants
to post any thing s/he can do it through the newsgroups or by becoming an
IP for the TFN. This is 'legal' content. If any one is using the TFN - or
more specifically public facilities - to post WWW commercial and/or
pronographic sites with no concent from the IRC or the board, then it is
something else.

: My stance on the not.torfree computer is "if it does not cost the TFN

Let me ask you this, what 'volunteers' have accounts on not.torfree.net,
Is Gard a volunteer? Why does not he as a volunteer and a board member or
may be yourself have an account on it? Is Sasha a TFN member? Why does he
have not only an account on not.torfree.net but also have his mailing
program on the office machine?

Well, as for your 'no objection to commercial use' I think you should
actually study the By laws of TFN.

: I will even tolerate pornography on not.torfree so long as it does not
: violates Canadian laws or Ryerson policy. Ryerson not only provides us
: the bandwidth for the machine but our office space as well.

Well, you have your standards. Does either Ryerson or Rogers were
consulted in this 'decision'? What you think will happen to TFN if someone
- not me, but the idea can be used by any one - are provided with the
URLs? Is not the best interest of TFN is something you are supposed to
'protect'?

: Volunteer Sasha's web site provides connection to Board member Dmytri's
: critique on child porn censorship, which warns people initially that
: what follows may be offensive. Unless the police or Ryerson warns us
: otherwise, I will not interfere.

I am glad to see you have Sasha as a volunteer and not a 'user' of TFN.
My suggestion is to nominate him 'volunteer of the month'.

Please Bill do not try to defend something wrong. You are putting
yourself in the same boat with people that it seems you do not have the
slightest idea what they are involved in, or at least I shall give you
the benefit of the doubt.
