If there were not jobs begging for people to take them, we would not have immigrants. I have a house opposite a Xmas tree farm. The WASP owners work like dogs on the land, but without a crew of Mexicans working with them, we would not have our Xmas trees either. They pay $9 an hour for the Mexicans, but could pay local labor about $6, but there are no locals interested, nor do locals have the skills. Yes, Xmas trees are labor-intensive, but I tried to help out at harvest time last year, and could not do the phyical labor. It is tough work.
