In article <35B9FC7F.52CA@swbell.net>, tracey12@swbell.net says... > And, if American citizens didnt have guns in their posession, control >freaks like Clinton and his admin. would create a wonderful socialist >utopia. We would live under the thumb of government that we could not >control. Poor misguide fool... allot of the people that work for our Democratic President are Republicans. From all of your posts, I am afraid that it is you that want total control of the citizen's lives. If it was up to you a person could only get a job that fit your stereo type... i.e. Hispanics could only mow grass, Blacks could only work is slaves... don't know what you would be having the Asian American doing, and according to you the American Native is not even human so therefore by your logic not able to work or even vote.... for the gay/lesbian Americans, you would have them thrown in jail because it doesn't meet your stereotype of what America should be and it goes against your Religious Principles.... Christ said "Love thy neighbor as thyself", he didn't say "Love thy white neighbor as thy white self." I am sorry that I cannot buy your definition of a free America as it doesn't seem so free to me at all when you have people going to jail for whom the love... this isn't freedom... when you have a group of people who are limited in what the could do, this isn't freedom. > Some people will misuse cars, trucks, knives, explosives, >guns, etc. But that is the price of freedom. WE have to realize this >fact. That, in we are to maintain control of our government, we must be >well armed. This is total bull shit. The threat of armed citizens isn't what keeps America free. It is how many people believe in the ideals of the US Constitution that is how we maintain control over our government. It is what the voters say just about every November not guns. Our government doesn't fear guns... look at Waco... look at the siege in west Texas and look at Ruby Ridge. All examples of our government not fearing guns. I admit that our government didn't handle most of these case properly but never the less the government didn't fear guns. > Therefore, some people will use weapons in the commission >of a crime. Similarly, we readily jump into our SUVs and fly down the >highway at breakneck speeds knowing full well that we have a real chance >of being killed while driving. And, we know that 40,000 to 50,000 >Americans die each year on the highway just going to work, or shopping, >or out to dinner. That is a huge amount of death! Actually deaths to gun fire is quite higher: Forty-five percent of all gun deaths reported worldwide take place in the United States, which has the highest rate of gun deaths among the world's industrialized nations. The Associated Press reported April 16 that the U.S. gun-death rate was 14.24 per 100,000 people, far higher than the next highest nation, Brazil, which had 12.95 gun deaths per 100,000 people. In 1995 (sorry don't have the figures for 1996 or 1997), there were more the 5000 innocent children killed by guns. >As many Americans die in car accidents each year as died in the entire >history of the Vietnam war! In 1996, 32,317 people died in car accidents nationwide. In 1997, 42,000 people died in accidents nationwide... let see how many died in Vietnam: Total died (includes friendly fire) or MIA: 58,202. Your statement is false therefore a liar or you trying to mislead the public? IMHO, you are doing both. >However, do you hear government ELECTED officials calling for Americans to >stay out of those death machines so that they will not be killed? > NO! Of course not, unless environmentalist wacko al gore >fires up his mouth and screams "The Sky is falling!" about some wacko, >made-up environmental issue. You need to wake up in smell the roses as there might not be any roses left in the near future because of wackos like you that don't believe what reputable scientists telling people about the destruction of the Earth's environment. We cannot destroy the delicate balance between nature in man. It has been proving that most of man's breathable air comes from the tropical rain forest but we do nothing to stop the destruction of the rain forests of the world -- what do the people that destroy the rain forest get -- maybe 1 year of crops then the move on and destroy more of the rain forest. You say you want a better place for the children of the world... well the destruction of the environment will not do that. When will you listen to reason? Probably when it is too late and there is no more air and you have to wear a suite sorta like a astronaut in order to survive. Then you probably revolt at the idea that ever man, woman, and child is entitled to one of these environmental suits free. >But, the evil, ELECTED members of our government do not fear cars and >trucks will hinder their control. This is the most ridiculous thing that I have read from you. >They do fear a public that is highly armed and willing to shoot to maintain >their God Given, Constitutionally Recognized Rights. Here we go with the GOD GIVEN RIGHTS... The rights of the US Constitution are not GOD GIVEN, the are only given by the people of the land that hold this document dear to their hearts which I don't see you doing. Furthermore, the Constitution doesn't give you the right to indiscriminately shot at any one. The 2nd Amendment only gives you the right to own and carry guns. Our forefathers when the wrote this probably was not referring to weapons of mass destruction like AK-47's and other assault rifles, these type weapons were made for only one purpose -- to kill another human being and at last check murder was still illegal in all 50 states and all of the commonwealths like Puerto Rico. >Weapon ownership is vital to our freedom. BS... the only thing vital to our freedom is to prevent wackos's like you from obtaining office. >Aside from the fact that many people stop would-be attackers, theives, rapists, >murderers with their personal weapon, The statics for this would amaze you... more people get killed with their own weapon then prevent the crime the first place. >our real goal is to maintain a balance of power between the electorate and the >elected. Your goal to kill not maintain a balance of power. GUNS do not do this. Violence never lead to anything except blood shed. >For we all have seen how dictators and thugs rule over people throughout >history past when the citizens of a nation have no weapons to use against them. No one in the past has had a governmental system like ours most governmental systems has been taken over by who has the most power and the poor and infirm suffer. History should have taught you that violence isn't the answer and a cure all to all that is wrong with the current situation. >We The People would have no rights without guns to enforce them. Our rights are due to our system of government not guns. [snip] > We The People had better fear the government that fears our guns! Our government doesn't fear guns, the fear wackos like you that walk into the capital building in open fire. Personally, I think all guns should be registered with a bore test done before sale so that the slug can be traced back to wackos like you that advocates indiscriminately shot at any one. I am for the 2nd amendment. Tell me how you would feel about guns if convicted felon Jonny Blow goes to the gun shop purchases a hand gun and precedes to blow your child's head off when you were no where around? Being a convicted felon, Jonny Blow doesn't have the right to buy a hand gun.
