You obviously have never been out in the private sector. First, Someone must oversee those three teachers, and provide for substitutesif one gets sick. Certainly, one of the teachers could be the head of the school, but with all his/her time being taken up trying to teach the classes, grade the papers, etc., her/him will soon discover that they would rather do one or the other. Yes, I agree that the kids could be required to clean up after themselves. Hell, I think thats a good idea for our current schools. However, one of them would complain to its parent, who would in turn complain to the school board, and before you know it we'd have an *expensive* lawsuit on our hands. Don't forget...someone must be available to deal with all the govt. entities which are going to get involved. The health inspector (what are the kids going to do for lunch?, clean bathrooms, etc.), the building inspector (is this a safe place for kids?), the TEA inspector (What, you don't think they want to be sure that *THEIR* money is being put to good use? See previous post), and on & on. BTW: I have rarely run into any private org., large or small, that didn't pay its cheif executive at least twice ( and usually three) times the amount it paid its next lowest employee. (I'm talking private sector here. Not public schools & universities who have a myopia about who is sub- ordinate, the president or the Coaching staff! :) Think I'll stop here. This editor is acting funny & I can hardly see what I'm typing. Jeff Janner janner@cactus.org .sig just around the corner. I finished it this morning....no more sequals... FTR: I am a die-hard INDEPENDANT. I stradle the fence better than anybody currently in the political field!!!!!
