It'll work fine. But forget X. You'll be better off running Lynx,
NcFTP, mutt, and slrn from the console windows. If you run X on an 8
meg system it will swap like crazy. As for Netscrape, version 3 slurps
up a whopping great 12Mb of [real, allocated] memory, increasing to
over 20Mb if I hit pages with some serious Javascript content. It's a
total memory hog. There _is_ an alternative or two, though. Red Baron
(shipped with Official RedHat 4.n, not in RedHat 5.0) is a Mosaic-
derived X-based browser that supports frames and tables. Works well
enough for ordinary web surfing, except for the lack of active content --
and only takes about 4Mb of RAM.
Anyway, how much is 8Mb of 30-pin SIMM these days? About 25 quid?

Getting a SCSI chain working is perfectly simple if you remember that there
must be exactly three terminations: one on one end of the cable, one on the
far end, and the goat, terminated over the SCSI chain with a silver-handled
knife whilst burning *black* candles.
