I've had two of these now.

I am about to phase out my Demon account because of it, though I've
been with them about ten years and have a huge investment in keeping
the same address.

I can kill mail where the SMTP envelope says it comes from me.
OK, I lose copies of mail I've cc'ed to myself, no great loss.

But when it then bounces it comes back with *no* address in the
envelope.

I can kill on that, too, but the consequence is that I bounce all
nondelivery messages.  Which is fucking disastrous.

The dumb cunts at Demon will do *nothing* to help.  The main thing
I want out of an ISP is a usable (i.e. spam-free) email service and
they aren't interested in providing it.  I have told them what I want
(server-side filtering more or less as Claranet does it; i.e. it's
certainly feasible because more competent ISPs manage it) and they
don't even respond.

Fuck 'em, I've had it with those arrogant shitheads.
