I still need to phone them about the graphics card as they emailed back today
to confirm that, yes the side panel does slide off but needs a bit of force.
My fingers nearly bled trying to get the bloody thing off!
One step at a time though, and tonight I've moved the ADSL modem from the old
PC to the new one, which thankfully turned out to be a more painless process
than I was expecting but whenever I'm delving inside my own PC to change
things I really do find it very unnerving :(
I've also hooked it up to the Xbox for Xbox Live which is working fine, except
that it's been nearly four weeks since I've used it since I've spent too long
faffing about with the new PC and I can't find my disc with the Moto GP online
demo on. Gotta be here somewhere.
Since rebooting though, I left the PC untouched for a while and some kind of
screensaver kicked in which switched the display off on both the monitor and
the PC. I thought it was a reappearance of the keyboard shortcut I seemed to
access which switched off the monitor display only (although there's no reason
why this should happen and if I didn't have the PC hooked up to the TV as well
I'd never have got it switched back on!)
I've cc'd this post to demon.tech.pc as I mentioned the keyboard shortcut in
there a while back but my question for this time is - how can the PC decide to
go to sleep when I haven't set any kind of sleep mode or screensaver? Gave me
a right shock when it did this just now. Is there a 'sleep' mode menu
somewhere?
TIA,
